Melissa Wray

These past couple years have proved to be a great start for Country Music Artist Melissa Wray. Her debut hit single “Little Bit Shy” made the initial Grammy entry list for “Best Female Country Performance.” The 2010 CMA Music Festival also welcomed her and Lamon Records label with their own booth that could be found directly across from CMT. Melissa has recently been performing during the summer months at rodeos in the Western states. Locally around Nashville she was asked to be one of the judges for the Generation for Creation Kids talent contest. She is also a regular opener for Vanderbilt University sports events as well as many other Nashvlle venues.  Melissa hopes this year will be as exciting as the last.  Many thanks to all the radio stations who have added her music into their rotation.

Melissa Wray has been singing all her life and began performing at an early age in Church. She grew up with Classical, Country and Gospel music. Melissa loved to spend countless hours in her room performing songs from Debbie Boone, Reba Rambo and Marie Osmond. “I just loved to sing and didn’t care where or when. I remember standing in front of the juke box in my grandparent’s restaurant belting out ‘You Light Up My Life’ several times a day!” As Melissa grew up she took every opportunity that came up to perform. Melissa toured with a jazz band, top forty and a Classical Chamber Choir where she was chosen as lead soprano in a European Tour. Melissa has sung in many different languages including Japanese for Japan’s Juno Festival. She has numerous live performances as well as been heard on radio and television. Her credits include recorded vocals for the Tournament of Roses Parade, touring to over 10 countries, and many top billing lead roles in live theatre. Melissa’s love for Musicals include playing several different runs as Evita Peron in Evita as well as lead roles in Brigadoon, Shenandoah, and 42nd street.
Melissa came to Nashville to pursue her dreams in music. In early 2008, her debut album entitled “Red Stiletto Mood” was released. Shortly after, she met Dave Moody formerly of the Moody Brothers. Dave produced her first video and released it along with the single “Little Bit Shy” from her album. The single and video is now being played both in the states and abroad. You can also find downloads for her music on iTunes, emusic, Amazon.com and other media outlets.
